The missionaries and ministries we support have been commissioned to carry the gospel “to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8) Our heart is to provide a foundation of support that will enable the work of the ministry to be carried out across the nations.
Annual Missions Celebration
Each year, missionaries supported by Liberty Church of Du Quoin take part in an in-person celebration to provide testimonies and updates of what God is doing in the areas they serve. They receive Commitments of Prayer and Financial Faith Promises from the church congregation for the next year.
Liberty Church has supported world missions since 1989, and we’re thrilled to be a part of reaching those who need to hear about the love and salvation of Jesus.
Missionaries Supported
In 1987, Dirk founded Arise & Shine Evangelistic Association (ASEA) in the Philippines. In 1993, ASEA expanded to London, England. An old pub was purchased, renovated and renamed “The London Outreach Center,” and is an evangelistic outreach to the greater London area. In 2002, the Wood Family launched out to establish an ASEA base in Cape Town, South Africa.
In 2007, Steve and Ana moved to Guatemala. In 2015, Steve was appointed to the position of Director for Living Water Adopt A Child (LWAAC) that began in 1980. Today the program serves over 8,000 children in Guatemala and 1,000 children in Albania. Hot meals, medical care, and Biblical training are provided through the generous gifts of supporters and the child sponsorship program.
Paul and Teresa Stilwell pastor Iglesia Cristiana Trinity, a ministry of Trinity Church in Lakeville, MN. They continue to oversee their church plant in Tepecoacuilco, Mexico, and they produce Spanish resources published on www.mexmission.com.
Working with Arise and Shine Evangelistic Association since 1988, Steve and Tina Same spent the first 5 years in the Philippine Islands proclaiming the Good News. In 1992, they relocated to London, England, and joined ASEA’s pioneering effort. They now serve in urban street ministry, operating out of ASEA’s “London Outreach Center,” a fully renovated former English “pub,” where they evangelize among the city’s 11 million people.
After graduation from Bible college in 1982, Johnny Cruz went to Spain. He ministered there for nine years – and also met and married Ivonne, the “lovely Honduran señorita” he met in Spain. In 1992, the Cruz family returned to Honduras and are now Latin America Directors of INSTE
Danny & Judy Armstrong have been missionaries with Globe since 1986. They spent their first years in Indonesia launching a Bible School to train church planters and church workers. They then lived in Malaysia working with an International team of church planters in Southern Thailand.
